RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Features Halloween Balloon Bash for Kids

Houston, TX –October 17, 2007 – This year’s RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival re-scheduling to the weekend of November 2nd-4th gave event organizers a great idea:  incorporate a Halloween Balloon Bash for young (12 and under) trick-or-treaters in costume during Friday evening’s balloon “glow”.

Scores of giant, 70-foot tall hot air balloons inflated on the balloon field shortly after dusk at Rocket Park glow to pulsating music, and during that time, youngsters can visit special balloon baskets that will give away treats, as a way to extend the Halloween experience for kids across Houston.

“We’re terrifically excited about having the festival in the fall for the first time this year,” said RE/MAX of Texas Marketing Manger Mike Sumerlin.  “Since it coincides with a traditional autumn event for kids, and since our festival is all about helping youngsters gain an appreciation for math and science through the study of aviation, it was a natural to incorporate the Halloween Bash into Friday night’s activities.”

“We’ll also be showcasing a new automobile from Saturn, the official vehicle of the festival, displays and fly-bys of current and classic military aircraft, as well as model rocket and airplane demonstrations.”

The RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival, presented by the City of Nassau Bay in conjunction with hundreds of Clear Lake area volunteers, features day-long exhibitions by skydivers, hang-gliders, and aerial thrills of all types in a family festival setting with a children’s midway, rides, live musical entertainment.

Family-friendly pricing of just $10 per carload includes Saturday’s NASA Mini-Tour from 9am until 5pm, visiting  the moon habitat module, rocks from the moon, the Saturn V complex, and the opportunity to get an autograph from an actual NASA Astronaut.

The festival opens at 6:00pm Friday, November 2nd, with a complete schedule of events  and directions available at www.ballunarfestival.com.
