AARP Magazine Road Show Visits RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival

Houston, TX -August 21, 2006-A Houston area senior citizen could be one of the next "Faces of 50+ Real People Model Search" in an AARP The Magazine fashion or beauty editorial feature in 2007.

The AARP The Magazine Road Show is visiting the RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival at the NASA/Johnson Space Center August 25-27, and will additionally offer health screenings, chair massage, a "picture yourself" keepsake photo aboard a luxury cruise, as well as sponsor coupons, free samples, and entry to various sweepstakes and prize offerings. Also, cooking and makeup application demonstrations.

"The RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival is an ideal event for our national tour," said a spokesperson for the AARP Road Show. "It's an outstanding family atmosphere that provides entertainment for all ages, and we're eager to find some Houstonians for our magazine. We'll be interviewing folks in their 50s, 60s and 70s who pursue an active lifestyle."

Sponsored by Schepps Dairy, the festival features over 70 giant hot air balloons engaged in weekend-long navigational competitions, mass launches at dawn, mass glows at dusk, and daylong exhibitions by scores of skydivers, powered parachutes, and numerous hybrid flying machines.

"The NASA mini-tour on Saturday is included in the $10-per-carload admission price, as is free onsite parking at the Johnson Space Center," said festival organizer Sunya Fitz. "The tour includes visits to the new Saturn V Exhibit, astronaut training facilities, moon rocks, and an amazing insight into the Space Program."

The festival, with a carnival midway, children's rides, exhibits, musical entertainment, arts & crafts, opens at 6:00pm Friday.

  • "Picture Yourself" onboard a luxury cruise when you have your photo taken in front of a fabulous Princess Cruise destination. Your digital photo will be placed in a keepsake photo frame.
