The world famous Oscar Mayer WIENERMOBILE vehicle will be visiting this summer’s RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival, giving hot dog and bologna fanatics a chance to see if they can cut the mustard in the Oscar Mayer Sing the Jingle, Be a Star contest!

Eager songsters are asked to sing their own version of the Oscar Mayer Wiener Jingle, the Bologna Song or the Oscar Mayer Spanish Jingle, with five finalists selected during November to land a spot in a national television commercial. Contest details available at www.singthejingle.com.

“This is a fun attraction to our festival this year,” said Steve Lombardi, co-founder of the RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival, the annual tribute to mankind’s fascination with flight that fills the grounds of the NASA/Johnson Space Center the last weekend in August. “Besides approximately 100 giant hot air balloons in competitive navigational maneuvers and aerial acrobatics of all kinds, our festival has grown into one of the largest family events of the summer, with a children’s carnival and midway, musical attractions, and of course, the NASA mini-tour on Saturday that gives behind-the-scenes glimpses of Astronaut training facilities, the Space Station mock-up, and other fascinating displays.”

The festival, presented by Schepps Dairy, blasts off at 6pm Friday, August 25th, welcoming balloons and pilots from across the country in a weekend of family fun. Admission is just $10.00 per car load, with free on-site parking and includes Saturday’s NASA mini-tour.

“Dozens of skydivers will conduct jumping demonstrations throughout the day, forming intricate patterns in the sky during freefall, along with aerial enthusiasts piloting hang gliders, para-sails, model rockets and airplanes,” Lombardi continued. “The entire festival is an educational family affair that encourages young people’s interest in math and science while having lots of fun.”
