AARP The Magazine Visits RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival

NASA/Johnson Space Center, Texas-August 24, 2005-Proving that beauty-irrespective of age- is in the eye of the beholder, AARP The Magazine is bringing it’s fourth annual Road Show to the RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival to photograph vivacious and vibrant adults 50 and up.

“Life really does begin at 50,” said an exuberant Mike Sumerlin, the fledgling senior citizen and Communications Manager for RE/MAX of Texas, the weekend Festival’s naming sponsor. “With reality television shows about people undergoing plastic surgery, AARP The Magazine wants to demonstrate that older Americans can be stunning and physically fit too. The Americans over 50 who are selected from this weekend’s photos taken at AARP booth will be featured in national magazine advertising next year, so it’s a lot of fun for ordinary adults.”

The AARP Roadshow tour joins the 13th annual tribute to mankind’s fascination with flight, along with a children’s carnival midway, arts & crafts, and weekend family fun, as outdoor enthusiasts from South Texas converge on the home of the National Space Program for the non-profit event that encourages young people to learn about math and science.

“You can’t miss their exhibit,” said Sumerlin. “They’ll be in a large tent near the balloon field, will have free health screenings, free massages, food samplings, prizes and vacation giveaway packages, and more. Their tour is visiting 13 cities across America this summer, and knew our Festival attracts people with a zest for life, which is precisely their target audience.”
