That tradition is underscored with their presenting sponsorship of the RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival, the annual outdoor family event designed to encourage young people interest in math & science through the study of aviation and aeronautics.

“This is a fantastic experience for families and friends to share together, and it’s right in our back yard at the NASA/Johnson Space Center,” said Tim Hawk, General Manager of Schepps Dairy. “We’ve distributed hundreds of thousands of milk cartons advertising the festival at convenience and grocery stores throughout the Gulf Coast area, and hope children of all ages will log onto the site (www.ballunarfestival.com), watch the exciting video clips of the festival, and load their friends from the neighborhood into the family wagon and come out for the experience. At just $10 admission per vehicle with free onsite parking, it’s the summer’s best entertainment value.”

The RE/MAX Ballunar Liftoff Festival runs from 6pm Friday, August 26th through noon on Sunday, August 28th. Admission includes the NASA Mini-Tour on Saturday from 9am to 5pm, visiting the astronaut training facilities. The non-profit festival is set in a county fair-type carnival, with a midway & rides, arts & crafts, food, live musical entertainment, and a tribute to mankind’s fascination with flight.

“There’ll be approximately 100 giant hot air balloons floating across the skies in one of the largest navigational competitions in the country,” Hawk continued. “Kids can get an autograph from a real NASA Astronaut, and see static displays of the most powerful rockets ever built. The balloon glows at dusk Friday and Saturday are spectacular, so visitors should bring their cameras.”
